SS Brandenburg

On September 24, 1903, the SS Brandenburg left from Bremen carrying Marianna Kwiatkowski, her son , Anthony, his wife, Katherine, and their children, Sofia, Helen, Marianna, and Jadwiga. Passage was paid for by Anthony's sister, Agnes Golusinska. The family arrived in Baltimore on October 8, 1903. From there they traveled to Chicago to join Agnes at 1084 Sacramento Avenue.


The SS Brandenburg was built in 1901 by the Bremer Vulcan Company. Its tonnage was 7532; its dimensions 429' x 54'. After WWI it was renamed the Hecuba. It was scrapped in Italy in December 1924.
